THE RETURN
My mom called me one day, and I was unusually eager to answer her call. She had asked me to help her with something earlier, and since she dislikes any form of delay with assigned tasks, I could not wait to give her feedback after completing the task. I am sure she was pleased by my promptness and attitude.
The time between when she made her request and when she asked me for feedback was not too long.
It struck me then that when Jesus returns, will I be as eager to welcome Him as I am to give an account of the assignments He entrusted me with?
As Christians, we may get carried away with this world's hustle and bustle, which can become so distracting that we forget the essence of our presence. Sometimes, we lose track of time and lack a sense of urgency because we don't know when Jesus will return, but it is time to retrace our steps, return to our first love, and do the work of him who has sent us again.
Take a moment to reflect on how you are living your life.
Are you actively working on the assignments He has given you?
Are you getting ready for His return?
He will return, and when He does, will you be filled with fear or joy at His coming?
We must ponder these essential questions as Christians this season and every day.
1 John 2: 28-29 says; And now, little children, remain in Christ, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.
2 Cor 5: 10 also says; For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Happy Easter!
